Croydon has a True Blue Heart

Everything began with the discovery of gold in 1885. Croydon, once a small, rural Outback town hardly known by anyone, transformed into one of the third-largest towns in Queensland during the gold rush era. The allure of prosperity drew many to this place. Gold deposits lay in reefs, leading to rapid and significant development of the township, attracting up to 7,000 people at its peak. The True Blue Visitor Information Centre now showcases this fascinating history through audio, video, and static displays.
